The Dubai Mall
The largest mall in the world at 12 million square feet.
Along the 1/4mi walk to from the Metro to the mall, we get this amazing view of the Burj Khalifa. This is the tallest building in the world...and we got to have breakfast on the 122nd floor, the next day!
The architecture all over Dubai is amazing. I love how almost no buildings are just a plain rectangular shape.
That is the mall on the left. Well, one small portion of one wing of the mall. Yes, it is huge.
Looking up from the bottom floor, this is one of several screens in the mall. This one boasts one BILLION pixels! Video below.
Here I am posing with some of the sharks in the aquarium, also within the mall.
I've never seen so much luxury in one mall. This place puts every Westfield Mall in California to complete shame.
A single-level area called The Souk. It looked gorgeous, but I didn't have time to go in and see what all it had to offer.
Just some sculptures at the front of the Souk. Also an Easter egg for an upcoming adventure.
This place is gorgeous.
What other mall has this much detail on the ceiling??
Some of the first shops in the Souk.
So much to see...
This mall is so visually overwhelming that I just had to take videos. These are from my Instagram account and some have music, so mind the volume, just in case. Feel free to follow me @See.Dez.Go to see my latest adventures (and aesthetically pleasing meals).
The metro stations are beautiful! Plus, they are incredibly easy to get through, walkable and air conditioned.
Almost made it to the mall and what a view! This is the front of mall along with a view of the Burj Khalifa.
Just a billion pixels above an aquarium INSIDE A MALL!
The Vincent van Gogh exhibit display was gorgeous. I wanted to go in, but reminded myself that I can see this in the U.S., so I enjoyed for a moment, then continued along my way.
A clip from the extensive walk way from the metro station to the mall. I was with a small group of students from my trip and by this time we were beginning to wonder “are we there yet?”
1 Billion pixel screen in the mall? NBD, here in Dubai. This is, of course, located ABOVE the aquarium. Can we say visual overload??
Gorgeous.
Just some more stunning architecture in the mall. Some areas were so beautiful, it really did bring a tear to the eye of this architectural design fan.
